Support Groups

All Services are FREE & Confidential

Our support groups are available weekly for adults and youth (some groups are women only and will specify) who have experienced and/or witnessed domestic violence in their lives. If you would like a safe place to talk, share experiences, learn, ask questions and even play, come join us!

La Crosse

W.I.S.E. (Wisdom In Search of Empowerment) is a support group geared for those of you who are 50 plus. We meet every Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and we are able to provide transportation on a limited basis if you are in need. We ask that you contact us in advance to obtain location information, arrange transportation or if you have any questions or concerns. Inquiries should be directed to 608-791-2610 ext. 1204

Our Wednesday support group is geared for women of all ages and is held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please contact us in advance for group location or with any questions or concerns you may have. Inquiries should be directed to 608-791-2610 ext. 1309

Our youth support group is held every Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the same location as our Wednesday women’s group. Children of all ages are welcome. Please contact us in advance with any questions or concerns you may have. Inquiries should be directed to 608-791-2610 ext. 1203

ACT Classes: ACT/Parents Raising Safe Kid Program, is education and support for families who have experienced trauma in their lives. 8 week classes that are held on Mondays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and we have a companion youth program for children ages 3-10 years old. Classes will start over every couple of months. Topics are: Understanding Your Child’s Behavior, Young Children’s Exposure to Violence and Trauma, Understanding and Controlling Parents’ Anger, Understanding and Helping Angry Children, Children and Electronic Media, Discipline and Parenting Styles, Discipline and Positive Alternatives and Overcoming Barriers to Change & Making Change Last.

Whitehall

Men’s Support Group
This support group is for men of all ages who have experienced and/or witnessed domestic violence in their lives. If you would like a safe place to talk, share experiences, learn or ask questions, com join us! The 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month at 4:00pm – 5:00pm.

Worth is Within YOU
This group is geared for women of all ages who have experienced and/or witnessed domestic violence in their lives.  If you would like a safe place to talk, share experiences, learn or ask questions, come join us! The 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month at 5:00pm – 6:30pm.

REST (Recovering from Sexual Trauma)
This group is geared for women of all ages who have experienced and/or witnessed sexual assault in their lives.  If you would like a safe place to talk, share experiences, learn or ask questions, come join us! The 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month at 4:00pm – 5:30pm.

 

Support Group Guidelines
These guidelines are to respect the confidentiality and safety of you and other group members.

  • What is said and done in group should remain in group and not shared with others
  • It may not be safe to acknowledge other group members outside of group. If you are aware of a time other then group that you may come in contact with someone from group, we suggest you talk with them at group so you are both comfortable for those non-group interactions.
  • You do not have to use your real or full name. We want you to feel comfortable when in group.
